Holiday Prep for Estheticians: How to Maximize Profits and Minimize Stress🎄

Holiday Prep for Estheticians

The holiday season can make or break your spa business. As an esthetician, you know Q4 is packed with opportunity - but also stress, overspending, and burnout if you’re not prepared.

Inside The Beauty Biz Club, we release our ICONIC Holiday Prep Training every October to help estheticians boost sales, streamline schedules, and keep holiday energy high. But today, I want to share a few of my favorite strategies with you here too.

After nearly 25 years in the beauty biz, I’ve learned that the right prep = peace of mind and profit.

✨5 Holiday Prep Tips Every Esthetician Needs✨

1. Launch Holiday Retail Kits

Retail is one of the simplest ways to add revenue before year-end. Many skincare companies offer holiday kits for estheticians - beautifully packaged and ready to sell. Here’s what worked for me: I ordered kits, sent a single client email, and they sold out within 24 hours. I reordered immediately, and those flew off the shelves too - extra holiday cash flow, zero stress.

đź’ˇ Pro tip: Check with your skincare rep to see what they offer and order early.

2. Create VIP Client Gifts

Your top clients are the backbone of your business. Reward them thoughtfully. This year, I chose Sorella Apothecary Salve & Eye Masks for my VIPs - presented in cute bags with handwritten notes of gratitude. These gifts are reserved for my best bookers, biggest referrers, and highest spenders.

Remember: client retention during the holidays often comes from small, heartfelt touches... it doesn't take a lot but it means a lot.

3. Get Your Bookkeeping in Order

Not the most glamorous task, but essential. After a long day in the treatment room, I sat down with my bookkeeper to organize my year-end financials.

Doing this early means no scrambling in December and a smooth start with my CPA in January. Don’t have a bookkeeper? That’s okay! Schedule an hour-long meeting with yourself to organize receipts and all other financial documents that may require attention.

Take time now to:

  • Gather receipts into folders
  • Review your numbers
  • Set income-generating goals for Q4
  • Outline a budget for smart holiday spending

Organized money = more money.

4. Plan for Holiday Fun

This one may surprise you - but trust me, it helps. I started planning my holiday outfits for events and client parties. When I feel put together, I bring that same energy into my spa and my client interactions.

The holidays are about connection - don’t forget to enjoy them!

đź’ˇPro Tip: A thoughtful holiday host gift idea... pair a hydrating face mask with a cooling gel eye mask, and attach a sweet skincare note with tips on how to use them the day after the party to banish “party puffiness.” Don’t forget to tuck in your business card, too!

5. Make a Black Friday & Cyber Monday Buying List

Impulse spending kills profitability. Instead, I create a thoughtful buying list ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

This ensures I stock up on essentials (like back bar products, gloves, and even spa décor) without overspending on things I don’t need.

đź’ˇ Think of it as “holiday shopping for your business.”
